Tajikistan Overview
Tajikistan, officially the Republic of Tajikistan, is a landlocked country located in Central Asia, bordered by Afghanistan to the south, China to the east, Kyrgyzstan to the north, and Uzbekistan to the west. It is known for its rugged mountains, particularly the Pamir and Alay ranges, which dominate much of the landscape and earn it the nickname “Roof of the World.” The country has a population of around 10 million people, with Dushanbe as its capital and largest city.
Tajikistan gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 and has since been developing its economy, primarily through agriculture, hydroelectric power, and remittances from abroad. The official language is Tajik (a variant of Persian), and Russian is also widely used in business and government. Rich in Persian culture and history, Tajikistan offers a blend of ancient heritage and natural beauty, making it a unique part of Central Asia’s cultural and geopolitical landscape.

Avicenna Tajik State Medical University
Avicenna Tajik State Medical University (ATSMU), established in 1939 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, is the country’s premier public medical institution, named after the renowned Persian polymath Avicenna. As the largest center for medical education in Tajikistan, ATSMU comprises five faculties—Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Public Health—supported by modern facilities including educational buildings, clinics, laboratories, and an affiliated hospital.
It has approximately 4,800 students and a distinguished faculty with over 297 doctoral-level staff, many decorated for scientific contributions. ATSMU is internationally recognized, holding accreditation from the Ministry of Education and Science, WHO, WFME, FAIMER, and the Medical Council of India, and offers a 5-year MBBS program in English, followed by internship training. With a legacy of producing over 35,000 healthcare professionals who serve domestically and abroad, the university remains a flagship of medical training and research in the region.

Important Notes
- Service Charges To Be Paid In India.
- In Exceptional Cases, Academic Fees Can Be Paid SEMESTER WISE as well, in that case First semester fee will be 1425 US $ and second semester fee will be 1425 US $.
- Fee must be paid only in the University Authorized Account mentioned in the Admission Offer Letter according to the prevailing exchange rate (USD to INR)
- First year to second year compulsory hostel (from third year students will be allowed to stay outside with the affidavit from the parents)
- Scholarship: The students who perform in academic attendance, academic behavior and scholarship exams can get the scholarship, moreover the Excellent Student (based on their semester’s exams marks/attendance), our Educational Trust will pay their 12th semester academic fee.
- FMGE Coaching: National medical coaching is free from fourth year to final year (FMGE Coaching professors will be from India)
